Mr. Stephen Lester-Smith, Music Theory teacher with 30 years teaching experience.
Stephen Lester-Smith was born in Manchester, England. After graduating from Chorlton Grammar School he studied at Trinity College in London and received an Associate-in-Music in Theoretical Subjects and Composition. He began his career as a private Music Theory Teacher in Richmond in 1983 and has been a member and past President of the Richmond Music Teachers' Association. As well he is a past member of the Vancouver Music Teachers' Association and the National Music Teachers' Association.
Since 1994 he has also worked for several Music Conservatories in the Greater Vancouver area. Most notably, the Richmond Music School, Mount Royal Academy and the Mozart school of Music. During his career he has continued to compose and arrange mainly in the Jazz genre. He has had his Music played both on Radio and TV both in North America and Europe, and by the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. When not pursuing his career, Stephen is active as a chess player and as a member of Mensa Canada.
Mr. Thomas Evdokimoff holds an M.A. in music theory from the University of British Columbia. While a graduate student in the Music Department he taught and coordinated the Ear-training program for first and second year music students.
Thomas has extensive experience teaching both private lessons and in the classroom. He has taught the the Royal Conservatory of Music (R.C.M.) music theory and history program for over fifteen years, preparing students for R.C.M. exams in all levels and subjects from Rudiments of Music through to Analysis and Advanced Harmony.
Thomas has taught at the Vancouver Academy of Music, and is currently on faculty at the Delta Community Music School as well as Vitta Academy.
