Gloria Yu, M. Mus., B. Mus., CT-ABRSM,
started her early music education since she was five. She joined the Hong Kong Yip’s Children Choir when she was studying at the kindergarten. Then she began to learn piano at the age of nine and she completed the Grade 8 ABRSM piano exam when she was twelve. A month after finishing the exam, she moved to Canada from Hong Kong with her family. Gloria continues her musical studies in Vancouver and Alberta and earned her B. Mus. from the University of Lethbridge and M. Mus. from Must University, specializing in Piano Performance. While studying at the University of Lethbridge Gloria won the first award of the classical piano open competition of the Lethbridge Kiwanis Festival 2003. She also participated at the piano master class with Glen Montgomery and the vocal master class with Richard Miller in 2004.

She started working as a full time musician and teacher since 2004. Gloria has been working as a piano teacher, choir and band director, choir and chamber music accompanist, piano and vocal performer. In 2008 - 2010 she was teaching overseas at Macau Anglican College.

Gloria is an early childhood music educator as well. She received the Certificate of Teaching from the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music from London. Gloria is also a Certified Kindermusik and Music for Young Children teacher. Gloria is not only a music teacher, she also like to practice and teach yoga to the children. She is a Certified Yoga Instructor with qualifications in children's yoga training. She began to teach children's yoga after having her first child and credits it to her ability to find peace and balance in her life.

She realized that kids love to pretend to be animals, but she wanted to come up with a creative activity for young children that offered more than that. By attaching a character trait to each pose and by combining yoga with her love for nature, the program teaches children to embody positive behavior and appreciate the natural world.
