With over ten years of teaching experience he has worked with students of all ages, and is a highly recommended and dedicated teacher. He has taught at several Music schools in the Lower Mainland and taught group violin to elementary students at Sunshine Hills and Rosser Elementary. He is a successful teacher whose students have all achieved First Class Honours for Royal Conservatory of Music examinations. He encourages his students to balance foundational techniques, accuracy, and musicality in everyday playing. He believes that teaching helps students find their self-expression through different music genres they choose to play, and develop their musicianship, self-confidence, and overall appreciation. He is passionate with teaching students of all ages with a variety of abilities and goals. Through his passion of teaching he brings a fun yet inspiring atmosphere into the lesson.
Andrew Ty
Andrew graduated from the Vancouver Academy of Music with his Bachelor degree in Violin Performance. He has participated in master classes with Gerald Stanick , Taras Gabora, and Rena Sharon. Andrew has performed with several orchestras including The Vancouver Academy Symphony Orchestra and Senior Strings under the direction of Michael Charry, Sidney Harth, Victor Feldbrill, and Mark Koenig. He has also played with the New Westminster Symphony Orchestra, and The West Coast Symphony. He has attended orchestral workshops under the guidance of Sergiu Comissiona and Clyde Mitchell. He studied conducting with the late Wallace Leung
